Tip: For the most reliable experience on PC, we recommend using an Xbox controller or a PC-specific controller. These are natively supported by Windows and Minecraft.
Our server runs Minecraft Java, but players can also connect using Bedrock through Geyser. Controller compatibility depends on how you connect.
Xbox Controllers (Recommended)
Xbox controllers provide the most seamless experience on PC.
Bedrock Edition
- Connect your Xbox controller via USB or Bluetooth
- Launch Minecraft Bedrock
- Join the server
Bedrock supports Xbox controllers natively, so controls should work automatically.
Java Edition
Xbox controllers can also work on Java, but require a controller mod, such as:
- Controlify
Once installed, the controller will work similarly to console controls.
PlayStation Controllers
PlayStation controllers are not officially supported by Windows games, but they can still work.
Bedrock Edition
Some players can connect a PS4 (DualShock) or PS5 (DualSense) controller via USB or Bluetooth, and Bedrock may recognize it automatically.
If it is not detected, software such as DS4Windows may be required.
Java Edition
Java Edition does not support controllers natively. To use a PlayStation controller, you will need:
- Controlify (or similar controller mod)
- Possibly DS4Windows to map the controller
Nintendo Controllers
Nintendo controllers (such as Switch Pro Controllers or Joy-Cons) are the least reliable on PC.
Bedrock Edition
They may connect via Bluetooth, but compatibility can vary, and additional configuration may be required.
Java Edition
To use a Nintendo controller on Java you will typically need:
- Controlify or another controller mod
- Additional controller mapping software
Summary
| Controller | Recommended Use |
|---|---|
| Xbox / PC controller | Best compatibility on PC |
| PlayStation controller | Works best with Bedrock |
| Nintendo controller | Possible but less reliable |
If you plan to play regularly with a controller, an Xbox or PC controller is strongly recommended. đŽ
