Please Note

This is a known issue affecting members who already have an existing Microsoft account (personal, school, or another workplace).

When Microsoft Teams detects an existing account, it may block you from entering your new Mud Club credentials or keep redirecting you to your old account.

Before You Start

  • Make sure you have your Mud Club username and password ready.
  • Try the fixes below in order

Fix 1: Sign out and switch accounts in Teams

  1. Sign out of any Microsoft accounts in your browser (Outlook, Office, etc.).
  2. Fully close the Teams desktop app if it's open.
  3. Reopen Teams — if it loads your existing account, click your profile picture in the top-right corner.
  4. Select Add another account or Sign in with a different account.
  5. Sign in with your Mud Club username and password.

Fix 2: Try the Teams web version

  1. Go to teams.microsoft.com in your browser.
  2. Sign in with your Mud Club credentials.
  3. If you're taken to another account, look for the org switcher in the top-right corner and switch to the Mud Club workspace.

Fix 3: Use a private or incognito window

  1. Open a private/incognito browser window:
    • Chrome/Edge (Windows): Ctrl + Shift + N
    • Chrome/Edge (Mac): Cmd + Shift + N
    • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  2. Go to teams.microsoft.com in the address bar.
  3. Sign in with your Mud Club username and password.

Important Notes

  • This issue is caused by Microsoft Teams, not Mud Club — it happens when one device has multiple Microsoft accounts.
  • You do not need to delete your existing Microsoft account to fix this.
  • If you're still unable to sign in after trying all steps, reach out to the Mud Club team for support.
